Important Information about Thanksgiving Break 2024

With Thanksgiving Break approaching in a few weeks. Here’s some important information for you to know & remember.

Before Break: You are responsible for working your shifts or finding a sub through Friday, November 22nd at 5:00pm

During Break: The library will be CLOSED from Saturday, November 23rd through Saturday, November 30th

At the End of Break: The library does reopen on Sunday, December 1st from 5:00pm to Midnight. Since we don’t want poor Matt working all by himself, it would be awesome if you could show up to work or find a sub during that time. If anyone would like a few extra hours, we would love it if you could help us out during that time.

After Break: Starting on Monday, December 2nd, it’s back to regular hours and business as usual.

Our wish for each of you this Thanksgiving break is safe travels, lots of great food and wonderful memories with family & friends.

We’re THANKFUL to have you as part of our library family.

Just another reminder that Election Day is coming up on Tuesday, November 5th. If you are registered to vote, please go out and vote. If you have questions about voting, please see a supervisor. If you need someone to cover so you can go home to vote that day, please post a sub notice.

Daylight Saving Time Ends This Weekend

Just a reminder that Daylight Saving Times Ends this weekend. This is the time where we "Fall Back". Remember to set any manual clocks, such as the microwave, stove, car, alarm clock back by one hour on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Most folks won't be affected by this as your electronic devices should change automatically.

Library Staff Activity - Trick or Treat Bags

It's Spooky Season! Since everyone loves candy, but we generally don’t “Trick or Treat” as adults, we’re going to have a fun staff activity where you have the opportunity to make a Trick or Treat bag for Halloween.

Participation in this activity is strictly voluntary.

From October 14 to October 27, each person may decorate a trick or treat bag for Halloween. Supplies to decorate bags can be found on the table in the back office. You are encouraged to decorate bags during a work shift, so get one of us to help cover the desk for you. Please be creative in your decorating, but vulgarity is discouraged. Once bags are decorated, they will be places along the back table.

From October 28 to October 31, anyone who chooses to, may put some little candy or treats inside the bags. IF you choose to participate in this part, please bring enough items for everyone’s bag. There are 30 people working at the library. Please be aware we have an employee who is allergic to nuts and at least one employee who is vegetarian. Please be conscious of this when bringing in items. The overall goal is fun, enjoyment & seeing how creative we all can be.

After October 31, you may take your bag home with you.

For any extra candy that might be left, since some may choose to not make a bag, we’ll put that in a bowl on the back table for everyone to help themselves.

Happy Halloween!
