Dealing with Unusual Requests
This week BUSP has been used by a patron in a wheelchair. Naturally, she needs some extra assistance, which we are happy to give. BUSP prides itself on good customer service, and those of us on the circulation staff are kind, caring, and very willing to help those who come to us with special needs. But some of this patron's requests have been out of line, such as asking to use a student assistant's personal cell phone. Anytime any patron has an unusual request, asks you to leave the circulation desk, or makes you feel uneasy in any way, go get your supervisor. Advise him/her of the situation, and let him/her deal with it.
