Our congratulations go to Charles, who came to IU from Terre Haute. He began his employment at BUSP as a freshman, and admits he considers the IC his second home in Bloomington. His favorite thing about his four years on our staff is working with all of you. He also enjoys the opportunity to see his friends and classmates around the IC.
Charles plans to take the high road immediately after graduation and do a lot of eating, sleeping, and nothing-in-particular until he begins his career as a supply chain consultant at enVista in Carmel, IN. He will be pushing to join enVista's recruiting team, so he can come back to IU to visit his sister and the rest of us. After he gets a few years experience under his belt, he hopes to move to the east coast and join a larger consulting firm.
His advice for you? Charles thinks it wise that you never stop learning. He encourages you to check out books on subjects you like and actually read them. He knows how difficult it can be balancing course work, extra-curricular activities, and a social life, but he firmly believes a good rule of thumb in the college years is to set aside a half hour at the end of the day to read any book you like. (Bedtime story, anyone?) He's also very much aware of how quickly time flies, and advises you to not get into a set routine which will only make it go by faster.
Charles has asked us to wish him luck, but we're absolutely positive he really doesn't need it. He's done his homework and he's got so much going for him that luck isn't necessary at all. But we'll do it, just because he asked. So here it is, Charles: Good luck to you! All our best wishes for a successful and happy life are following you out into the Big Wide World.
