Hayden Caught in the Act

Hayden was Caught in the Act last week of doing more than his fair share of organizing our very messy shelves holding returned books.  Thank you, Hayden!  Your work allowed us to quickly get the books back out into the stacks for our guests.

The red circulation handbook has been new and improved and divided into categories to make it easier for you to find the information you need.  You'll find the following categories inside the notebook:

Take a look at it when you have some free time at the desk. In addition to this resource, do remember to use your supervisor's brain.  He/she can answer your questions and our guests' questions.

Upcoming Dates to Remember

January 18 - BUSP is closed for MLK Day.

January 22 - Our All-Staff Meeting begins at 6:00.  This is a mandatory meeting.  If you cannot make this obligation, you must clear your absence with Terry before the meeting begins.

Spring Semester Tidbits to Know

Welcome back!  We hope your break was filled with all good things that were just right for you. 

While you were away a few changes took place in the building: 1) The SPEA lost & found is now located in SPEA 159.  2)  The ground floor hallway leading to Kelley has reopened.  3)  Our atrium doors will be locked all this semester due to the courtyard's closure and the construction on the SPEA building. 

We have three new Reference Assistants: Natalie, Rebecca, and Yu-Chen.  If you work during their shifts, please introduce yourself and give them a good BUSP welcome.

Each of you ended last semester with a healthy timebank balance.  Thank you!  We owe the following people special thanks for the many hours they subbed for others:  Walt, Sydney, Ivona, Jelena, and Ethan.  Each of them filled in over twenty hours, making sure our guests were taken care of and allowing their co-workers needed time away. 

BUSP Trivia:  There are 26 letters in the alphabet.  (You knew that, right?)  There are 33 of us working at BUSP.  (Did you know that?)  Of that 33, six of us have last names beginning with the letter H, more than any other letter.  Most of the books in our collection have call numbers that begin with the letter H.  The letter H apparently rules at BUSP!
