At the Fall All-Staff Meeting on September 19th, Alex & Leya received the Business/SPEA Library's "Above & Beyond Award".
Alex -- Without a doubt, one of the hardest shifts to fill is the 8am to 11am slot. However, for both semesters last year Alex was our rock, our anchor, our go-to morning person, taking the bulk of those shifts that nobody wanted. This made Matt and Jeri very happy, which is reason enough for the Above and Beyond award. However, while helping us fill an important shift, Alex also proved himself to be a very reliable and conscientious employee, and a valued member of the staff. We even still like him despite his only being able to work one morning shift this semester. Thank you, Alex, for being so willing to help us out and for being such a terrific employee!
Leya -- In the two years that Leya has been with us, she has been unfailingly reliable. She is always punctual, rarely calls off and always gives extensive notice on those occasions when she does ask for a sub. We always know things are in good hands when she’s at the desk. But what we appreciate the most about Leya is her desire to get things right. She doesn’t hesitate to ask questions when she is unsure about something, and her questions are thorough, seeking not to only solve the problem in front of her, but to get a fuller understanding of how things work. Thank you, Leya, for always going above and beyond with your enquiring mind.
