As the end of the semester approaches, we'd like to take the opportunity to highlight our graduating students. This is a bittersweet moment for us as we will miss them terribly, but we wish them much success in the future. Their contributions to our library during their time here have been invaluable to the success of our library and appreciated more than they know.
So, we thought it would be awesome for them to share a few words about their time here at the Business/SPEA Library.
****************************************
Where are you from? - Yangon, Burma
How long have you worked at the Business/SPEA Library? - I started working spring semester of freshman year, so it's been
3.5 years!
What is your position here at the library? - I'm a Sr. PSA.
What did you enjoy about working at the library? - I would say the people, because everyone is so incredibly kind,
welcoming, and friendly and so many of the people I work with have become close
friends and people I can rely on during difficult times. The library has truly
become a home away from home for me. Every time I come in to work, there’s such
a positive energy all around that I can’t help but feel happy. I’m especially
grateful to Matt, Jeri, Gary, and Ilana because they’ve set the bar incredibly
high for what great leadership looks like, and I can only hope to find
something like that again in the future.
Do you have a favorite memory of the Business/SPEA Library? - I think every day at the Business/SPEA Library has been memorable
for me, but my favorite memories are from working over the summer. I spent so
much time at the library, and ordering DoorDash with Havana almost every day
became such a fun little routine that made the library feel even more like
home.
Do you have a favorite Indiana University or Bloomington
memory? you’d like to share? - One of my favorite memories at Indiana University was when we won
the National Championship. Celebrating out on Kirkwood with so much school
spirit around me was truly unforgettable.
What is your degree & major? - B.S. in Cybersecurity & Global Policy with a minor in
Informatics.
What are you plans after leaving IU? - I am planning to continue my graduate studies in cybersecurity
after graduating from IU.
Do you have any farewell thoughts that you’d like to share with
your library colleagues? - Thank you all for making the library such a special place for me.
It really became a home away from home and a safe space for me, and I’ll always
be grateful for the kindness, laughter, and support I found here. The people
I’ve met and the memories I’ve made here mean so much to me, and I’m really
going to miss you all. I wish everyone happiness, success, and nothing but the
best moving forward in both career and life.
