Where's the Nearest U.S. Mailbox?

We’ve had this question come up already this summer.  Due to the closure of the first floor of the Kelley School, we can’t get to the US mail box slot located near the elevators. The nearest US mail box (one of those blue boxes) is on Jordan Ave between 10th & 7th Streets, directly outside of the Wells Library. To get there, one can exit the south end of the Wells Library lobby, go down the stairs, turn left and follow the sidewalk out to Jordan Ave.  The mailbox will be on the left.  We can direct users to that mailbox when they have US mail to send.

Where Is What and Who?

By now, you probably know that both the Kelley and SPEA buildings are undergoing renovation this summer.  People, offices, and departments may very well not be in their usual spot.  If someone comes to the desk looking for directions to Kelley or SPEA personnel or departments, please get your supervisor to help them.  We'll do our best to track down the whereabouts.

Donations

With the remodeling scheduled for the Kelley School this summer, many faculty members are being temporarily booted out of their offices.  As they are packing for the move, they are scouring their bookshelves and finding many items they don't want to keep.  Guess who they want to give these books to?  You got it...BUSP!  They'll want to hand these books, maybe even boxes of books, to you when you're behind our service desk.  Please don't accept donations.  Instead, find a staff member to talk to the kindhearted and generous would-be donator.   Thanks!

Fall Schedules

Watch your e-mail for your fall schedule.  I hope to get it to you before the end of finals week.

Thanks for all.  Happy finals to all of you!

One one thousand, two one thousand......ten one thousand

We've heard some mumblings from waitlisted guests who missed getting their rooms because they couldn't reach our desk before we moved on to the next name on the list.  I know, I know...we tell them to stay close to the desk, but they don't always do that.  Even so, we want to do our best for them.  Over the year, most of us have developed our lungs so we can really belt out those names on the list.  Some of us can shatter glass.  We're not having that much trouble being heard.  Sometimes though, we are a bit fast in belting out those names three times.  Let's try pausing a bit in between our shouts.  That should give our guests a little more time to claim their key.  Who knows, maybe it will also give our lungs a chance to recoup on busy days.
